Wire Transfers

You can wire money quickly and securely to those in the U.S and abroad! Review the service charges schedule for further details on fees. It is important to verify the identity of the recipient and the location where and who (receive) the funds are intended to be transferred.

Only members may only complete wire transfer requests to send out funds. Funds used must be collected funds that have been deposited into a depository account.

Domestic

Send money to a business or individual within the United States. This typically takes 1-2 business days. Remember: Once processed and sent, it cannot be cancelled or recalled.

Information required for Domestic Transfer:

• Account holder’s name
• Account type (checking, savings, or loan) to be credited
• Account number

International

The international wire transfer is intended for a cross-border destination, outside of the United States. It is important to note that wire transfers to other countries are subject to different compliance standards compared to those within the US. Financial institutions involved in the process, both the correspondent and destination banks may impose additional fees that Belco may not be aware of. As the sender of the wire transfer, it is suggested to understand the timeline and any additional fees that could be charged before submitting the request to be completed.

Commonly, funds are sent in dollars (USD), however the transfer order can be sent in the currency of the destination country. If funds are sent in the destination country’s currency type, the receiver could avoid conversion fees.

Additional details required include the BIC or SWIFT codes, which identify the destination of the transferred funds along with the standard bullet pointed details. To send funds internationally, the request will require information like what is listed on the chart below, along with the details of the receiver (the senders intended recipient) of the funds including the purpose of the transfer.

When you are the beneficiary receiving an international wire transfer, the sender from the foreign country must include:
