Belco in the Community
At Belco, our dedication to meeting our members’ needs is matched only by our dedication to giving back to the communities we serve through volunteer participation, fundraising, financial literacy programs, sponsorship’s, and charitable contributions throughout the year. Belco is proud to be a part of what matters to our members.
Carlisle C.A.R.E.S. was the recipient of $1,000 generated from Belco’s recent “Souper Bowl” Soup Cook-off and Bake Sale.
On Saturday, January 20, a group of 13 employees and members helped with food distribution at Project Share in Carlisle, PA.
On Saturday, December 16, we sponsored the Harrisburg Heat Soccer game, and invited Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region to join us.
On Friday, December 15, we dropped off hundreds of toys collected at Belco branches for Toys for Tots. We also donated $520 to Toys for Tots. Here we are with Santa D at 96.1 SOX toy drop off in Columbia, PA. Thanks to everyone who donated toys this Christmas season.
We hosted Santa at four of our Belco branches in December (Carlisle-Eastgate, Gettysburg, Mechanicsburg, Lancaster-Oregon Pike). Hundreds of kids came out to get their picture taken with Santa Claus.
On Friday, December 8, 10 Belco employees participated in the WGAL Salvation Army Coats for Kids Telethon in Lancaster. We also donated $1,000 to the Salvation Army.
We participated in#givingtuesday on Tuesday, November 28, with a $1,000 donation to Mission Central!
On Saturday, November 25, we participated in the the Lebanon Holiday Parade
On Saturday, November 18, we participated in the Harrisburg Holiday Parade
On Oct. 19, International Credit Union Day, we raised a total of $2,480.51 for Children’s Miracle Network. A total of $1,123.91 was donated from our Bake Sale at the branches that day, and Belco donated 5 cents for each debit and credit card transaction on 11/19 totaling $1,356.60.
On Friday, November 10, 4 Belco employees volunteered to answer phones for the Pay 4 Play radio-thon supporting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Central PA Credit Union took part in the event as co-sponsors and volunteers. The event raised $241,363.30 for Children’s Miracle Network.
