Belco @ Newville Fountain Festival on June 16, 2018
Belco had the pleasure of hosting local author Tracey Jones from Tremendous Life Books and her dog Indigo Jones at the Newville Fountain Festival 2018 on Saturday with a reading of his best-seller Boxcar Indy Goes to Doggyworld. Belco provided children with free “paw”tographed copies of Indy’s book.

Belco Partners with Mission Central at the Harrisburg Senators Game – June 3
On Sunday, June 3rd, we teamed up with Mission Central and supported them at the Harrisburg Senators game.
Big Spring High School 2018 Scholarship Winners – Bulldog Scholarship Winners – May 30
Congratulations to Madana Tigyer and Taylor Donovan, they are our Bulldog Financial Literacy Scholarship Winners from Big Spring High School in Newville, PA. Each year we award (2) $500 scholarships to two Big Spring High School Seniors.
- Madana Tigyer – She is planning to attend Frostburg State University in Maryland to major in Business/Hospitality Management
- Taylor Donovan – She is planning to attend Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, PA to major in Dairy Science
Harrisburg Senators – Rascal’s Birthday Party – May 27
Our mascot, Lonni the Lion, was invited to attend Harrisburg Senators mascot Rascal’s Birthday Party Celebration. Lonni the Lion greeted fans on the board walk and participated in a mascot parade on the field.
Central Dauphin High School – Good Character Breakfast – May 25
On Friday, 5/25, Tricia Heisey spoke at the final Central Dauphin High School’s Good Character Recognition breakfast for the 2017-18 school year. Belco is proud to have sponsored this initiative for the past 3 years. Principal Ken Miller (pictured) thanked Assistant Principal Ron Porter for implementing this wonderful program.
UPMC Pinnacle’s Annual EMS Picnic – May 24
On Thursday, 5/24, Tricia Heisey participated at UPMC Pinnacle’s Annual EMS Picnic to join forces in thanking our local First Responders for their sacrifice, dedication, and service to our communities.

On Thursday, May 17, we sponsored and attended the SACA Fiesta in Lancaster to support our community.
April was National YOUTH Month – APRIL
The month of April was National Youth Month. We had goals, activities, and special contests throughout the month at the branches.
- Our goal for new youth member accounts was 300; we reached the goal at 325
- Our goal for number of youth deposits was 13,000; we reached the goal at 14,793
- Our goal for total amount of deposits was $500,000; we reached the goal at $589,382
Since we met all 3 of our Youth Month goals, we will again be donating $1,000 to Children’s Miracle Network

Take Your Daughters & Sons to Work Day – April 26
On Thursday, April 26, we hosted over 30 employees’ children on National Take Your Daughters & Sons to Work Day. At the Operations Center, special guest Karen Young attended with her Susquehanna Service Dog in training to talk to the kids about their program.
Belco’s Annual Meeting Dinner & Gala – April 21
This year, over 550 members and friends attended our Annual Meeting Dinner at the Radisson on Saturday, April 21. In conjunction with our Kentucky Derby theme, Prairie Fire Horse Farms attended and brought a few of their horses to the event.
Logan’s Run and Walk for Autism – April 21
We sponsored the Logan’s Run and Walk for Autism on Saturday, April 21 on Harrisburg’s City Island.
Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake Event – Belco raised over $5,000 – April 7
On Saturday, April 7, over 20 employees & friends participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake event at ABC West Bowling Alley in Mechanicsburg.
