A warm welcome to our
                          newest members and
                          employees from Cornerstone,
                          Cornerstone Federal Credit A Belco
                          Union. The legal merger
date was July 1, 2017, and Community
                          we completed the Credit Union!
                          integrating of systems in
              Amey’s Corner early
                          September. Employees and
Board Members of Cornerstone have transitioned into their
roles in the combined credit union. It is exciting to see the two credit unions coming
together after months of work to align staff and board members matching each to
      their future roles.
As credit unions, we are governed by a volunteer board of directors who are elected
from the membership. Directors set the general direction and control of the credit
union; these volunteers are not compensated for the time, effort and support they
provide the credit union. By virtue of our structure, a cooperative business model,
credit unions could not operate without this group of dedicated members who give of
their time and expertise freely in exercising their fiduciary responsibility over the
credit union. As part of our merger agreement, two Cornerstone volunteers have been
added to the Belco Community Credit Union Board of Directors. As directors, they
too will have voting privileges and oversight of the credit union.
We welcome three volunteers from the Cornerstone Federal Credit Union. Jeff
Cohick and Doug Graham joined the Board of Directors, and Nancy Clay is a
member of Belco’s Supervisory Committee. Each of these volunteers has stepped
forward to continue his or her service to the credit union and its members. We value
their leadership as a connection to Cornerstone’s rich history and ongoing legacy. The
spirit of volunteerism is a driving force behind the credit union system and the
      cooperative financial service structure.
It is also appropriate to recognize Belco’s long standing Board of Directors,
Supervisory Committee and Associate Volunteers. Collectively, this group of
individuals is donating their time to meeting no less than monthly for board
meetings plus special committee work. Additionally, each volunteer must meet
continuing education requirements to ensure a current and up-to-date view of issues
within the industry. Belco Community Credit Union proudly recognizes its
volunteers and their service to the credit union.
