IN MEMORIAM
J. William Janes, Belco Board Member
Longtime Belco Board Member, J. William
Janes, 93, died Saturday, April 1, 2017. Bill
served on the Supervisory Committee and
then Board of Directors for 40 years. During
that time, he worked on various committees
within the board.
Bill was a devoted member of Paxton
Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg, and was
active in the Robert Burns Masonic Lodge,
Tall Cedars of Lebanon, the Shriners, the
American Legion, and the Scottish Rite
Consistory.
Bill served in the Marines during WWII,
including in Nagasaki at the conclusion of the
war. He worked for 39 years as a splicer for
Bell Telephone Company. He enjoyed
traveling with his wife Kitty, to whom he was
married for nearly 71 years, and spending time with his family, especially his
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
“Bill will long be remembered as a dedicated and dependable resource to Belco,”
said Amey Sgrignoli, President/CEO. “He was a friend to many on the board and
staff. He continued to keep a close eye on the credit union even in retirement. Bill
and his wife Kitty are an important part of the Belco family. We pay tribute to Bill’s
service to our country and to the credit union.”
