Belco Community Credit Union Hosts Financial Reality Fairs
Harrisburg, PA (1/5/18) Belco Community Credit Union recently hosted two Financial Reality Fairs at Big Spring High School in conjunction with the school’s Personal Finance curriculum. A total of 90 students participated in the two programs. Big Spring High School is the site of Belco’s student-run school branch location, the Bulldog Branch, and the credit union holds a reality fair at the high school each marking period.
The reality fair provided students with a “hands-on” budgeting experience to gain practical knowledge about personal financial management in a one-day “real world” environment. The booths were managed by volunteers from businesses and the community, as well as staff from Belco.
“The Financial Reality Fair is great opportunity to challenge the students and help them better prepare to be financially independent,” stated Angela Barlup, Business Development Representative and Reality Fair Coordinator.
