BELCO EMPLOYEES VOLUNTEERS AT LOCAL FOOD BANK .
Harrisburg, PA (1/29/2018) – On Saturday, January 20, employees and members from Belco Community Credit Union helped with food distribution at Project SHARE in Carlisle, PA. In all, more than 222 households were provided with basic meal preparation supplies.
Project SHARE is an interfaith cooperative effort, begun in 1985, involving local congregations, schools and civic organizations. Contributions of food, clothing, money and volunteerism provide basic assistance to more than 1,000 families each month. Assistance is provided in the communities of Carlisle, Carlisle Springs, Mt. Holly Springs, Boiling Springs, Gardners, Plainfield, New Kingston and Middlesex. Of those needing assistance, 20% are seniors and nearly 30% are children.
“Belco is proud to support Project SHARE. Our employees want to give back to the community and this is just one way of doing so. Many people have difficulty making ends meet and putting food on the table for their families. We want to do our part by supporting organizations who are there to assist these families,” said Sam Glesner, Senior Vice President at Belco.
