Harrisburg, PA (April 15, 2019) – Belco Community Credit Union recently awarded $5,000 in scholarships to help student member-owners meet their higher education goals. Winners were chosen based on an essay, academic excellence, extra-curricular activities, and community service. Belco has been awarding scholarships to members for more than 25 years. This is possible in part because of Elton “Miller” Peterman, a true visionary and one of Belco’s founding fathers.

Three graduating high school seniors, and two are awarded to members who are continuing their education. The scholarship winners were selected in March and honored at Belco’s annual meeting held on March 30, 2019. Belco received 148 applications for this year’s scholarships. The winners of the 2019 Elton “Miller” Peterman scholarships are:

Kyle Putt, son of Robert and Lynn Putt of Enola, PA. Putt attends East Pennsboro High School and plans to study Mechanical Engineering at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, PA.
